Bhendi or okra is otherwise known as ladies finger, it is named vendakaai in Tamil, Bendakaya in Telugu, Bhenda in Gujarati it is high fiber content vegetables, and it is mostly used in south Indian recipes. It helps to cure diabetes.

Ingredients:

Okra- 1/2 kg
Oil-4-5 tbs
Mustard seeds- 2 pinch
Onion- 1 nos
Dry red chili- 5-6 nos
Tomato- 1 nos
Turmeric powder- 1 pinch
Salt -needed

Serves:

6 serves

Procedure:

1. Take a dry pan, pour 4-5 tbs of oil and allow it to heat.
2. Then put 2 pinches of mustard seeds allow it to splutter.
3. Then put chopped onion mix until it turns golden brown in color and curry leaf to add a nice flavour.

4. Put 5-6 Dry red chili to the pan.

5. Then add tomato to it, mix well.
6. Add a pinch of turmeric powder and mix it well.
7. Now pour all chopped okra in the pan.

8. Mix it gently until the slimy content disappears and shrinks slightly.
9. Add needed amount salt and mix it well.
10. Serve hot as a side dish with rice.
